I started this string diamond quilt a long time ago (January), and had about half of the blocks pieced. With my time off, I finally finished the remaining 26 this week. I'm so in love with it! The pattern is called "Valentine" from Elizabeth Hartman's The Practical Guide to Patchwork: New Basics for the Modern Quiltmaker

I'm thinking about turning it into a duvet cover, rather than a quilt. Any thoughts? Should I worry about not quilting down all those bias strips? I'll need to wash this regularly, so any input would be helpful. - I reviewed the book on Episode 40 of the podcast.

Very pretty! I don't know about the bias stretchiness. Seems reasonable that it might be a problem. I vote for making this a regular quilt. You did want my vote, didn't you? :)
I really like those colors. I've never done a string quilt - looks like one may be in my future.
Very cute! I have that book as well- I think I might have to make that one!
I think I'd at least quilt it with a light weight flannel (if you want the crinkly look) or 100% cotton quilting fabric or muslin as the backing with no batting. I'd be afraid that it would fall apart with regular washing.
