Two New Bags

Who doesn't need more fabric bags? They're like M&M's - you really can't ever have enough! I made the one on the left for my BFF Marybeth, who lives in NC, but is still close. The one on the right was going to be for my SIL, but I decided I couldn't bear to part with it (doesn't it look darling there on my new dressform?)! Both are lined with vintage pillowcases.

I used the great grocery tote pattern from Spool Sewing. The handle construction is very clever, and I'll definitely be making more of these babies! Pattern is here. Check out their great fabric - I am planning a Philly trip soon, just to see this place in person!

p.s. - working on the next podcast, plan to post it by the weekend.

I've made probably hundreds of totes, but I don't understand the handle directions of the bag - drawing the diagram on the ws of bag?? Could you please explain? Private email great and if you need me to, I'll be glad to call you. Thank you.
