Tumbler Quilt

I saw a tumbler quilt using Kaffe Fasset prints like this at a local quilt show, and I knew I had to make one.  Those Kaffe Fasset prints just call to me. I think it's going to be a wall hanging for my office  - so I can gaze at it all day when I'm on the phone.

I got so excited making the blocks that I made more strips than I needed, so I made up a table runner with the leftovers.  The best part about this (other than 2 KF projects in one), is that I was able to try out the quilting options on this smaller one.  I started with stitch in the ditch, but then switched to "echo" quilting, about 1/4 inch from each seam.  Used variegated thread in jewel tones.

By doing a bit of research, I found out I could use the Fat Cats ruler to make the supersized blocks.  So happy to find that!  The only other option I'd found was the AccuQuilt Go, and that's not in my budget right now!

  6. You can make a template for 5 inch charms from the cardboard backing from a charm pack. Just measure an inch in at each side (top) and cut straight from bottom corner to your mark.
