Handmade Teapot Cozies

I'm sort of new to the world of tea and teapots, being a coffee lover and all, but I've come to enjoy the pleasure of brewing tea, steeping it in a ceramic pot and enjoy a few cups.  Plus, it's a great use for the vintage tea cups and saucers I've found at thrift shops.

Maybe it's from watching all that Downton Abbey (can't wait for the new season!) and a bunch of BBC shows (Sherlock, The Hour, Survivors, Being Human) - I'm quite the Anglophile!

Anyhow, I've learned that hot tea needs help to stay hot.  Which of course means a teapot cozy.  I knit myself one, and just added a few to my Etsy shop.  It's my own design, after a few trial and error versions.  I knit it with a drawstring top to make it adjustable for a variety of teapot sizes.  The hardest part was figuring out how to make spaces for the handle and spout.

This one's made with hand-dyed yarn.

This one's made from super soft cotton.

So, any other British drama fans out there?  Let me know in the comments.

Definitely a Downton Abbey fan, but not much of a tea drinker. These are cute.

I am a big tea drinker, but i am lazy and kettle the water for individual cups. Your cozys are adorable.
