My crafty sister Kelly and I entered APQ quarterly challenge with our latest apron creations, Cherry Bomb (mine on left) and Read All About It (Kel's on right). Sadly, we were not chosen as a finalist. That's OK, because we had fun making them, and learned a few new techniques, including how to add piping to a project! Kelly chose our theme - black, white and red, and I was very happy with how both look. I'll post more pics on my Flickr.
Go to apq.com to vote for your favorite apron, they are all very, very cute! Lots of good inspiration.

Hi Jean!
I stumbled across your podcast when I was at work today. Okay, so I too, have a day job (as a designer) but strive to find time at night to create my own stuff. I *LOVE* your podcast. It's so informative...especially since I'm breaking away from my illustrating and drawing and venturing into sewing. I have so many ideas. I'm getting a new Janome machine in the next couple of weeks. Anyways, KUDOS to you and what you've accomplished thus far. I'm always excited to find people I can realte to.
Jean,
I found your blog through iTunes and I'm hooked! I'm waiting for your next one! After listening to your story about your Singer I thought about my grandfather's old industrial pedal (not treadle) machine that I have, well I pulled it out, oiled it and called Singer for a few missing parts but I have moved it right into the middle of my work room. I can't wait to start using it again. Thanks for the inspiration.
Susan
Thanks so much for sharing!
