I made a Zippered Bag

It's certainly not perfect, but it is done. I*made* a zippered bag for holding stuff in my purse.  Inspired by the Lexie Barnes Sew What Bags book.  My first attempt at zipper installation.  It was a lot easier because you put the zipper in the two top pieces before you sew up the sides.

Fabric patches are from a Hunky Dory charm pack I bought at AQS.  Love mixing linenish fabric and patchwork.

As a bonus, I used some new vintage fabric I recently found (a pillowcase) as the lining.  Look out, Vera Bradley.....:)

"Perfect is good, done is better!" (Quilty wisdom shared with me somewhere along the way.) Very very cute!

That is great! I love it. Why do zippers terrify us so much! I am really into the linen/patchwork look right now. Have you seen the book "I "heart" Patchwork?" It's all little bags and stuff that use linen and quilting fabric. I'm lovin' it. Great job on this bag!

Love your zip bag! I've made a few based on Amy Karol's Bend the Rules Sewing one. http://www.flickr.com/photos/44958656@N02/4464656157/ and http://www.flickr.com/photos/44958656@N02/4132862730/in/photostream/
I'm also a fan right now of linen-ish fabric. Is it that our eyes & souls need a break from all the bright paterns that we also love?!!!
