I did it...

I finally committed myself to create some handmade things to share in an Etsy shop.  It's been a lot of work (those of you with Etsy shops know what I mean).   Here are my first few listings:

This one is called the Patchwork Cottage Wall Quilt.
This is a related one, called Quilt Cottage -inspired by my Lancaster trips!

The other handmade item is my Pinwheel Quilt.

I wanted to make sure I had a few things before I launched it (or re-launched it, as I had listed my cupcake pattern there before I decided to make it a freebie on Scribd.) The vintage part of my shop will be reclaimed fabric, like Fat Quarters of vintage sheets, recycled denim charm packs and other treasures I find.

Please visit my shop here, and have a look (there's a link on the left sidebar, too).  If you like it, please consider adding a "heart" or favorite on Etsy.

To celebrate my new Etsy shop, I've decided to do a giveaway of  one of the Vintage Sheet Fat Quarter 4- packs.  There are several 4-packs in the shop.  Just leave me a comment below, letting me know which is your favorite, and I'll choose a winner on July 9th.
7/9 Update: Giveaway now closed.
Picking winner tonite!
Here's a peek at one of the packs:

And, I'm also preparing the next podcast, with all the details about the projects.  The pinwheel quilt was especially fun to make!

So happy your shop is up and running! Those quilted pieces are a steal. Having seen them in person I just may buy the cupcake shop one! (And I swear I'm not just saying this because you're my sister!)
I may have some vintage pieces for you to add to your next sets!

I loooove the Pretty and Pink collection! :)

You have a great eye for putting colors together! Methinks I need to get off my chubby butt & sort through the stuff I picked up at garage sales - I have a vintage sheet that would match the bottom picture of your Pretty and Pink set perfectly. :)

I've been enjoying all of your podcasts. I must say I really like the Pretty & Pink collection. I think those fabrics would look great in my daughter's room.

Best of luck with Etsy, it looks great. Hands down my favorite is the Fabulous Florals line.

Wow, those cottage quilts are adorable! I love the landscape quilting. Very cute!

As far as the FQ sets, I can't decided if I like the Pretty and Pink or the Pink and Yellow better. They're all beautiful. Why don't we find sheets like that in the stores anymore? They're all boring solids or large graphic prints.

Andrea said...

Long-time podcast listener here. I love all the vintage sheets and the duvet cover you made from them. My favourite are the vitage florals.

I saw your wallhanging and immediately thought you could do a series of different buildings in a town. I think you could have lots of fun designing different types of shops and houses. Have you seen Gwen Marston's Liberated Quiltmaking houses technique?

I found your blog by searching for denim quilts and saw the pinwheel quilt in the images (hope that makes sense). I just brought home a pinwheel quilt that my grandma gave me and it has inspired me to me to make a pinwheel too! My sister just released a line of fabric that's black and white--it'll be perfect in a pinwheel! I have an etsy shop too and will be certain to favorite your shop.
