Felt like it was time for a new summery purse. Lots of firsts for me with this project, which I made using this Indygo Junction pattern: Grommet Grab Bag.
I'd purchased the grommets about a year ago, intending to make a purse like this one day. When I visited And Sew It Goes, a local quilt shop this past weekend, they had a sample and one last copy of the pattern. It was meant to be! Other than the pattern, all the other supplies for this were from my stash - double bonus!
I made a few modifications (naturally!) Most important, I added a pocket on the front for my mobile phone (gotta have easy access). Check out the inside - yep, more rick rack in action on that interior pocket:

I'll do a full project review on the next podcast (coming this Sunday).

So cute! I'm with you on the pocket for the phone - has to be where I can get it quickly!
very cute & as "they" say One can't have too many bags, right?
Super cute! Like you, I have grommets but no pattern...was thinking to try my hand at winging it....I think I can, I think I can....:)
This is adorable! Well done!
LOVE this bag! They always have such cute patterns and now I need this one ;)
I really like that outside pocket.
The handles on the bag will work a lot better if you have one handle instead of two, and pull them different. Number the grommets from right to left 1-2-3-4. Pull the loop between 2-3, same on the back.
Glad you are back. Missed you!
