I'm calling this mini quilt "Brights on Black and White" - clever,eh? The black and white background is the same one shown below as the example of using the Strip Stick to iron the seams - awesome stuff.
After I pieced the background, I quilted each "ditch" or seam using one of the fancy stitches on my Janome. I'd never used them, so wanted to give them a try - found some new favorites.
The flowers are a combo of my own designs and flowers cut from fabric. There's some Lake House and some LizzieB fabric included. (Thanks to my sis Jan for the idea!) After fusing them on, I did some raw edge applique on a few.
This now hangs above my sink, where I do not have a window, but wish I did. Instead, I hang a seasonal wall quilt there.

Love the contrast between the black background and the bright flowers! I also do that sometimes, using the fancy stitches when quilting vertical lines. Makes me feel good that I am actually using the machine fancy stuff.
That is really lovely.
It is beautiful Jean
