Liberty for All!

Am I the only one who's totally stoked (hello, 1980s, I know, but I digress)...I'm SO excited about Target's new Liberty of London collection.  I've been seeing the TV ads with all those gorgeous prints, and I drool.  They won't be in the stores until Sunday, 3/14 - I've confirmed this by visiting 3 different Targets this week, hoping for a preview. Nada.

For those who haven't seen it, here are a few shots (think of them as fabric porn):

The teasers I've seen have these fabulous prints on teapots, umbrellas, and linens. I already have plans to pick up some linens for fabric projects. Heck, if they didn't have linens, I'd be cutting up clothing. I just love the bold, bright patterns. Probably due to my huge desire for spring to arrive. That Target, always coming up with new things for us to buy!

Would it be wrong for me to be standing at the door on Sunday morning when they open?  I'm only kidding (mostly).

Gorgeous prints!

And your last line reminds me of the old Uptons (yes, I'm dating myself) commercial where the women are standing at the door saying, "Open open open!"

Does anyone besides me still remember that?

To answer your last question, no, it would not be wrong. I'll be there with you (except on the other side of the continent).

Ha ha! You are too funny. I love these as well and am excited to see them. I have missed the ads, but have seen people talking about this on their blogs. So, you've gotten me stoked, too! ha ha!

Oh, Jean, by the way, you totally inspired me to finally get off my duff and start the blog I have been thinking about doing for the last year. I have listened to your podcasts and read your blog and noticed that you get so much done. I am hoping getting my blog going will help me with accountability. I posted a link to your blog as one of the blogs I follow! Hope that's okay!

Jean,
I love your podcasts and look forward to each and every one. Of all the podcasts I listen to... yours is the one I listen to first. Very informative and lots of tips. I am a knitter (new), crocheter, quilter, and garment sewer. I also listen to "sew forth now", which is another of my favorites. Sew forth now is more about garment and accessory sewing.

Jean! I just found your blog today! WOWZA! But you don't even list yourself as a scrapper anymore - kind of sad about that. Oh and as I have been blog hopping the arrival of Liberty at that Target is widely anticipated. Daisy's first birthday theme is cupcakes - give me some ideas! What thrift stores dud you go to?

hi Jean

I have been working away on my blocks that I am making from your pattern. I got a bit carried away and drafted off 17 of them!! I have 11 of them appliqued and have some trims glued onto them but not stitched down yet. I will send you a photo when some of them are complete. I also found a couple of crotchet patterns and have made 3 pincushions. Mine don't look as realistic as the pictures... perhaps I overstuffed them

Target's not the only company doing Liberty of London -- M.A.C Cosmetics has a brand new line of LoL stuff -- the packaging is beautiful. I did everything in my power today to NOT buy makeup when I passed the display.

Now I have to get to Target to get some cute summery stuff! YAY!

Hey Jean, I love your style, writting and sense of humour :) Big Fan as you know :)
If you like this new line of fabrics you should check out fabrics designed by Bill Kerr and Weeks Ringle of Fun Quilts (http://www.funquilts.com/) as they are very similar to the pic you posted.
Ta ta for now, I wish I could say I would meet you at Target and go shopping but alas that would have to be in another life since I'm in Canada and your in the USA.
Cheers for now
Valerie
