Hi Jean,

Thanks for doing the podcast! I listened to all of them this morning and really enjoyed them. Right now I'm machine quilting a queen size on my twenty year old Kenmore without a walking foot or an extension table. Its more quilt wrangling than quilting! For this project at least, my new favorite motto is, "Finished is better than perfect!"

In one of your podcasts you asked if anyone belonged to a guild. I was a member of the Raintree Quilt Guild in Evansville, Indiana for a very short time, because we moved away. But it was a wonderful experience. It was a pretty large guild, but the ladies were so warm and welcoming and generous with their time. In addition to their regular meetings, they held frequent sewing sessions either at a local library or a member's home, where they would work on and learning techniques. Haven't investigated a guild here yet.

Thanks again for the podcast!

I had a great time at the Lancaster show on Saturday-- it was mainly an inspiration trip for me, trying to figure out what I'll make next. I did buy a few tools and sewing machine accessories. It was such a great day. I'm enjoying your new podcast-- Thank you!

Hi, Jean! Love the latest show and I am jealous I don't live near Omish Country.

In the beginning you mentioned the trouble you were having with free motion quilting and said you would post a picture of the problem. I don't see the picture. I had a problem with bobbin thread on my free motion and I am wondering if it is the same thing. I don't have a fancy, expensive machine either and I heard that most machines are set up for apparel sewing. The issue may be bobbin tension. I took my machine into the shop because of massive looping on the bobbin side when I was free motion quilting and found out it was just my tention.

I loved this podcast. I was also at the Quilter's Heritage Quilt Show - the same day - well actually I try to go every day of the show. I live only a few miles from there. Love, love, love it!!

very jealous... would love to be able to go to this. I might just have to come to the US again soon. As to the cost of fabric.... here in Australia quality patchwork fabric is over $20 a metre usually. Fat quarters are $5 each.....
