Episode 30 Show Notes: Tutorial Round-Up

Here's my first try at making Cathedral Windows:

Looks so much better when you follow the tutorial's directions(below) and fold down the edges before you start folding.  See the top right corner of photo below -- that's the step I skipped at first.

Here's a shot of one of my UFOs in progress of becoming a FO - it's an Amy Butler project that I started, and then put on hold.  It will be a crib quilt when it's all done.

Tutorial Round Up:

Hyenna in Petticoats:

Wild Olive Blog:
She also has a great tutorial for a sewing scissor case
Her class: The Embroidery Project: Beyond fabric and floss Starts on July 12

Cluck Cluck Sew Blog:
Raw edge circle quilt - using American Jane Wee Play and related prints
Others: scrappy rose brooch, petal pillow, appliqued fall pillow

One of a Kind from Freda's Hive:

Lolly Chops Owl softie

Little House by the sea has a tutorial on mushroom house softies

Hello Spring! :  Lady Bug pincushion

Bloom:  Journal Cover

Little Lady Patchwork has awesome pictures from Quilt Market - does room by room photos, comments.  Makes you feel like you were there!  Here's the link.

Finally, here are some photos of my studio that show how I'm using my thrifted kitchen finds to organize.  I like that the stuff inside doesn't show, and I get to enjoy my favorite goodies.

I enjoy listening to your podcast and reading your blog. Just wanted to drop a line to let you know that I find a lot of great tutorials at One Pretty Thing. She searches the web for tutorials and publishes a daily listing of some great ones.

Hi Jean, I love cathedral windows I've made 2 totes in different sizes all pieced by hand and they are so cute!! I sell a pattern of mine with these little windows lined in silks... Maybe we could do a group sponsorship together and I can possibly put one of my kits up to win?? What do you think? Email me. Valerie@pastimesonline.ca
