I made several new bags this weekend. Sometimes, I find a smaller project gives me the instant gratification I need to power through a creative block. Does that work for you? If not, what helps you when you feel "stuck"?
I made this first zippered pouch to hold all the extra "stuff" I carry in my purse - you know, tissues, band-aids, floss, gum, etc. It's based on a pattern called "Lollipop bags" by Atkinson Designs that I bought on my California trip.
I altered it a bit - didn't add the rose, contrast diamond or strap. I also added a strip of the lining fabric at the top - and quilted the outside layer - I liked how that looks. The zipper construction was very unique, and a technique I'll definitely use again.
I highly recommend the patterns made by Atkinson Designs -- I've purchased and used several, and I'm never disappointed. I love good design!
This flat one is for holding coupons and receipts. Super fun design based on a Pinterest pin!
The last one is for my Etsy shop - it's the new style of Nook and Kindle cover I've been making. It has a pocket, and fits most sizes of e-readers, and even the new iPad mini. I love this gray polka dot fabric - click through here to see the awesome lining. I also offer these in a variety of fabric choices!
Also, I sense a contest coming around the corner...stay tuned. It's for something I made that needs a new home.
